Picture Feature(d): Ilocos Norte

Excerpt from InTheNews of InFlight February-March 2011 by Margie Francisco

Ilocos Norte is drawing up a three-year master plan to position itself as one of the country’s top destinations, with the 724-hectare Paoay sand dunes and Paoay Lake at the forefront of its new tourism development.

The tourism plan includes developing the Paoay sand dunes for activities like sand bashing or 4×4 wheel driving, sand buggies, sand skiing and sand boarding. Paoay Lake will be developed as a water sports venue with activities such as fishing and boating, wakeboarding, waterskiing, zorbing and swimming.”
