Excerpt from Tablas Island Overview from SEAIR Leisure Escape Packages 2010

“Romblon is a richly-endowed province that’s made up of three main islands: Romblon, its capital, Tablas and Sibuyan, with 17 municipalities and some 20 islands off the Sibuyan Sea. It is generally mountainous but its islands are normally of low hills and plains, and a lot are blessed with lovely beaches and coves, waterfalls and caves. Geographically, it sits south of Marinduque, west of Masbate, east of Mindoro and north of Panay Island; and it’s so close to Boracay Island that one of its islands, Carabao Island, is only about two hours’ boat ride away. Romblon is also known as the country’s marble capital because of its natural marble deposits eating up a large deal of the province.”
